Barcelona’s sports director, Deco, maintains his organized approach to ensure the futures of the team’s core players.
Deco won the renewal of Frenkie de Jong earlier this month after extending the contracts of players such as Pedri, Gavi, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Ronald Araujo throughout the year.
Eric Garcia, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is expected to be the next player to sign a new deal, with an agreement reported to be close.
Ferran Torres is next on Deco’s agenda.
According to Alfredo Martinez of SPORT, following the fulfillment of Eric Garcia’s contract renewal, Ferran Torres has emerged as the next significant case on Deco’s agenda.
While Garcia’s renewal was the most pressing, since his contract expires in June 2026, Deco and the coaching staff also see Ferran’s continued presence as a strategic importance.
Thus, once the defender’s contract is legally signed, negotiations with the Spanish forward will officially commence.

Ferran’s current deal is up until June 30, 2027, making him one of the club’s next significant extensions.
Other players with expiring contracts, such as Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen, are not being addressed for the time being, as Barcelona has no plans to extend their contracts.
Both sides are eager to sustain cooperating.
Ferran has constantly stated his loyalty to Barcelona, and the club sees him as a key attacking asset.
The 25-year-old forward’s consistent development in recent seasons, adding both goals and work rate, has cemented his position on the roster.
Ferran is regarded as a versatile attacker who can fill the No. 9 role when necessary.
He is likely to compete directly with the ultimate successor to Robert Lewandowski, whom Deco hopes to sign in the upcoming summer transfer window.
