The Belgium international leaves Villa Park after making just 13 starts in three years following his £13million move from Wolves in 2022.
Dendoncker made 36 appearances in total, with his last outing coming in an FA Cup victory at Middlesbrough in January 2024.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Napoli before moving to Anderlecht for the entirety of last term.
Villa Free Up Wages
Anderlecht opted not to trigger their purchase option, leaving Dendoncker back at Villa with one year left on his contract.
The club have now parted ways, freeing up wages to support late transfer window activity, reports Express & Star.
For Dendoncker, the switch to Oviedo presents a fresh opportunity to revive his career in Spain after struggling for consistent minutes in England.
Villa are also preparing to sanction another exit, with winger Leon Bailey set to join Serie A giants Roma on loan.
The Jamaican winger has arrived in Italy to complete his medical ahead of the proposed season-long deal.
Villa will receive around £1.7million as a loan fee, with Roma holding an option to make the move permanent next summer for £19million.
Unai Emery’s side are expected to remain busy in the coming weeks as they balance squad depth with Financial Fair Play regulations.
