Arsenal moved their attention to the Champions League following another fruitful weekend of Premier League action.
This season, Mikel Arteta’s team has dominated the competition, defeating Athletic Bilbao, Olympiacos, and Atletico Madrid 8-0 on aggregate.
However, the North Londoners will face a new test on Tuesday night as they travel to play the feisty Slavia Prague, perhaps without Viktor Gyokeres.
The Swedish international will be missed, but Arteta might replace him with a young player who has drawn some positive comparisons to Liverpool’s top attackers.

Gyokeres’ early years at Arsenal
It would be an understatement to say that Gyokeres was under a lot of pressure to succeed at Arsenal.
Yes, he wasn’t quite as expensive as some other strikers, but he was very productive for Sporting CP, and the Gunners were thought to be one forward away from winning the Premier League the previous season.
So there was a lot of pressure on his shoulders, and while he has had some poor performances and looked a touch awkward here and there, it would be fair to say he’s had a reasonable start to life in North London. Reported on X.
For instance, the Stockholm-born star has now scored six goals, two of which came against a top team in Atlético during his most recent Champions League match, despite not being as deadly as some had imagined.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old gave what many have called his best performance in an Arsenal uniform on Saturday afternoon against Burnley.
In addition to opening the score in the fourteenth minute, he also contributed to the second goal and, had Bukayo Saka been wearing his shooting boots, may have had two assists.
Sadly, he was substituted at halftime; Arteta subsequently stated that he had a muscle issue.
Charles Watts, an Arsenal reporter, has already confirmed that he did not attend the most recent training session, thus it looks like he won’t be able to play against Slavia.
