Arsenal have reportedly been handed an injury blow after Declan Rice suffered what seemed to be a hamstring injury which made him miss the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against newly-crowned Premier League champions, Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Rice did not make the Gunners’ team that rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a draw with the Premier League champions, despite playing the full 90 minutes of last Wednesday’s 2-1 loss at Paris Saint-Germain.
Manager Mikel Arteta did not mention the injury that kept Rice out of the game at Anfield in his pre-game remarks.
According to the BBC, he said: “Declan couldn’t even train so he’s injured unfortunately and couldn’t make the game.”

Although there is hope that Rice’s hamstring injury is not severe, club medics will not take any extra chances with the England international while he recovers.
Arsenal’s remaining league games are against Southampton on the last day of the season and Newcastle on Sunday.
The Gunners are presently two points ahead of third-place Newcastle in the Premier League’s race for second place, and they only need two more points to earn a spot in the Champions League next season.
Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of England, will be informed about Rice’s injury prior to the internationals next month.
In addition to being essential to Tuchel’s ambitions, Rice is practically guaranteed to be included in England’s team for their June matches against Andorra and Senegal.
