Arsenal Star Set For Spell On Sidelines Through Knee Injury

Arsenal forward, Kai Harvetz has reportedly suffered a knee injury and is set for a long spell on the sidelines.

The 26-year-old did not attend Wednesday morning’s open training session for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Additionally, the forward, who only recovered from a devastating hamstring injury at the end of last season, appears to be out for a considerable amount of time.

Havertz came off the bench for the Gunners in Sunday’s opening Premier League victory over Manchester United.

However, a few days later, he was absent from the squad’s training. The Athletic claims that because assessments are still in their early stages, it is still unknown how long any layoffs will last.

In an effort to address their striker issues, Mikel Arteta paid £64 million to Sporting Lisbon to acquire Viktor Gyokeres. However, if Havertz is sidelined for an extended amount of time due to his problem, the Gunners may need to revisit the market.

Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal’s other striker, is also sidelined due to an ACL injury sustained at the beginning of the season; it is unclear when he will return.

Midfielder Mikel Merino was used as the primary focus point during the second part of the previous season, while Jesus and Havertz were both out.
