Arsenal has joined Chelsea in the hunt to sign Xavi Simons, with a report suggesting which move the RB Leipzig star may prioritize this summer.
Simons is only 22 years old, but he has already had a successful career, having progressed through the Barcelona academy before joining Paris Saint-Germain’s youth setup as a teenager. He was promoted to the PSG first squad in 2022 but made only 11 professional appearances, prompting a move to PSV.
The center offensive midfielder, who can also play as a winger on either flank, joined Leipzig in 2023 and spent a season and a half on loan with the Bundesliga club before making the move permanent in January for €50 million.
Simons has established himself as one of Germany’s best players, with 21 goals and 23 assists in 76 matches for Leipzig to date.

He is likely to leave Leipzig this summer in order to advance in his promising career, especially since the club dropped to seventh place in the table and failed to qualify for any European competition.
The Dutch playmaker is expected to join the Premier League this summer, according to The Telegraph, with Arsenal and Chelsea both interested.
Arsenal have’registered their interest’ in Simons as they look for a versatile player who can play in the No. 10 position or out wide.
Chelsea has’made a check’ on Simons as they look to add another forward to their roster.
According to the report, Chelsea will most likely have to trade at least one of its attacking players to make place for Simon. They have already sold Noni Madueke to Arsenal for £52 million, and other players expected to leave include Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix, and Nicolas Jackson.
