Arsenal Involved In Talks To Sign 23-Year-Old For Less Than €60m

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal has increased its efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie, although negotiations remain difficult due to the German club’s tough stance on his release clause.

Leverkusen is presently utilizing the €60 million release clause in Hincapie’s contract as a baseline in negotiations.

Arsenal, on the other hand, is hoping to negotiate a contract that is less than that amount and to have some leeway in the ultimate cost structure.

Concrete conversations between the two clubs have already begun, with both parties eager to reach an agreement before the transfer window ends.

Arsenal plans to continue their buying spree this summer.

Mikel Arteta has made many signings this summer, strengthening the squad at all positions.

He has received strong support from the club’s owners for making team changes in order to compete with Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Hincapie is regarded by Arsenal as an ideal match for Mikel Arteta’s system. The Ecuadorian international is left-footed and can play as a centre-back or left-back.

Hincapie himself is said to be eager to complete the transfer. According to Plettenberg, the player has already agreed to join Arsenal and is awaiting a mutual agreement between the two clubs.
