Arsenal Have Made Shock Contact To Sign £26m-£34m Man Utd Player

Manchester United have struggled in the Premier League this season, but they are only 90 minutes of good football away from reaching the Europa League final. It gives them an outside chance of securing Champions League football for the following season.

Getting into Europe’s elite competition would be transformative for the club, considering it would put them in a much better financial position and at the same time, also ensure that they have the pull to bring in top signings to reinforce the squad and kick-start the Ruben Amorim project.

To make signings though, Man Utd might have to make sales in the summer. More than recouping the transfer fees, it is essential for the club to get some of their high-earners off the wage books and this will hold them in good stead to make potential reinforcements.

Now, as per UOL, Premier League rivals, Arsenal, have made shock contact to sign Man Utd outcast Antony.

The Brazilian winger, who has had a disastrous career at Old Trafford, is out on loan at Real Betis, where he is playing some of the best football of his career.

Should Manchester United sell Antony to Arsenal?

Antony has been on fire since joining Betis in January, scoring four goals and two assists in 13 league games while also contributing five goals in seven Conference League games.

He is coming off one of his best weeks in recent memory, with a decisive goal in a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina and a last-minute league winner against Espanyol. Both goals were absolute screamers!

Although Arsenal should be able to sign the player for between £26 million and £34 million (UOL), it is surprising to see them linked with a Premier League flop. Despite his success in La Liga, Antony only scored once in 29 appearances last season. There’s a reason Manchester United opted to let him go.

Ruben Amorim must make a crucial decision on Antony’s future before the start of the following season. The Brazilian winger has been in good form at Betis, and if Manchester United wanted to cash in, now would be the time, albeit they would still have to take a significant cut on the fee they spent to bring him in.

However, the Portuguese tactician has a lot of reinforcements that he has to make this summer and might choose to keep Antony and see if he can build on the form that he is showing at Betis.
