Arsenal’s Squad For Brentford Confirmed With Saliba, Trossard Calls Made

Arsenal’s games are coming thick and fast, so Mikel Arteta will have to use his title-chasing squad in every way imaginable during a frantic December.

The Gunners will welcome Brentford to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, hoping to get back on track after a disheartening draw against Chelsea the previous weekend. Tonight’s encounter is the first of eight matches in the final month of the year, with Arteta’s men competing in three competitions.

Manchester City’s stunning 5-4 victory over Fulham means Arsenal are now only two points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Victory at Brentford will restore their five-point lead, but it will not be easy.

Despite winning all but one of their home games this season and facing one of the league’s weakest away sides, the Gunners are without several key players for Wednesday’s clash. According To Football London

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes both missed the 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The latter has already missed three games, while Saliba’s absence from Stamford Bridge came as a surprise. His absence was owing to a knock he received in training, but Arteta did not identify the cause.

On Tuesday, the Gunners manager revealed that Saliba suffered a slight injury but did not rule him out of playing against Brentford. “He had a little niggle, so I think it’s going to be a matter of days, so let’s see if he’s able to be there tomorrow,” he joked.

“The ankle injury [earlier in the season] was completely odd and unlucky, keeping him out for a few weeks. He tried at Anfield but felt uncomfortable, so he had to leave.
