Chelsea are expected to demand more than £50 million for Noni Madueke, while Arsenal are set to begin talks over a move for the England star after reaching an agreement on personal terms.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their offense this summer, with a No. 9 and a new left winger on the wishlist. While Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is said to be their main wide-forward target, Madueke, 23, has been the subject of much speculation over the last week.
While sources suggest that Arsenal has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Madueke, Chelsea’s asking price for the winger may complicate matters.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea will demand more than £50 million for Madueke, who is under contract until 2030 and would give depth on Arsenal’s right side of the attack.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will contemplate a move for Madueke at that price, as the club is still pursuing a number of other transfers, including a massive deal for Viktor Gyokeres.
Sporting and Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks over a deal for the 27-year-old striker, who is expected to lead the Gunners’ attack next season.
Arsenal have already spent roughly £55 million to buy Martin Zubimendi, and another eight-figure amount is expected to be required to lure Christian Norgaard away from Brentford.
And, with Arsenal still interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Valencia’s highly touted young centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, they may have to trim their cloth accordingly.
Enzo Maresca has previously stated that he will not stand in the way of Madueke or any other Blues player who decides to go. W
