Arsenal Apologise To Atletico Madrid Following A Complaint Lodged Over Emirates Stadium Conditions

Arsenal have apologised to Atletico Madrid for not having hot water in their dressing room at Emirates Stadium after training on Monday night.

Atletico practiced at the Emirates ahead of their Champions League match against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Diego Simeone’s team, on the other hand, was obliged to return to their hotel after the session to shower because the Emirates’ dressing rooms lacked hot water.

The issue is said to have affected both the home and away locker rooms at the stadium.

Atletico Madrid personnel informed Arsenal of the situation at 6.45 p.m. on Monday, while their players were training.

The session was scheduled to end at 7.30 p.m., but it was finished 15 minutes early.

The problem with the hot water was not repaired until 7.25pm, at which point Atletico chose to return to their hotel to shower.

Arsenal apologized to the Spanish club’s staff for any disruption caused.

UEFA infrastructure laws require stadiums to provide hot water showers, although it is unclear if these standards extend to training sessions or only match days.

Standard Sport contacted UEFA for comment.
