Liverpool {slot] are apparently planning to transfer Darwin Nunez once they have finalized an agreement to bring Florian Wirtz on board.
The Reds are in talks to sign the golden kid of German football from Bayer Leverkusen in what is expected to be a club record signing – and the freshly crowned Premier League winners are already planning how to recuperate part of the costs.
Arne Slot is anxious to complete the club’s transfer business early this summer, with Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, his Leverkusen teammate, set to join. Right-back Frimpong, 24, has already agreed to a £29.5 million transfer and a five-year contract, while Liverpool are thought to have made an initial proposal of €100 million (£85 million) plus add-ons for attacking midfielder Wirtz.
Leverkusen is holding out for a better offer, valuing the 22-year-old at well than £100 million. If the German club gets their targeted price, it will establish a new record for Liverpool, whose most expensive transfer is Nunez, 25, from Benfica for £85 million (£64 million with add-ons) in June 2022, after previous manager Jurgen Klopp endorsed his deal.

Liverpool have finances available following last summer’s solitary signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus, but they also intend to increase their coffers by selling surplus players. Nunez, who started just eight Premier League games for Slot this season, is expected to be moved this summer after scoring only seven goals and assisting seven times in 47 games.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are looking for a buyer for Nunez and intend to use the funds to sign a new striker. According to the Mirror, Atletico Madrid is interested in signing the Uruguayan international, and a deal appears to favor all parties involved.
