Arne Slot’s Phone Call Could Lead To A Celtic Transfer Jackpot

The Dutchman is apparently eager to lure his compatriot Jeremie Frimpong against Arne Slot to Anfield.

The right-back spent a year and a half at Glasgow’s east end before being traded to Bayer Leverkusen in January 2021.

He could be on the move this summer, though, and any deal that sees Frimpong depart Leverkusen could have a huge influence on Celtic, since the club holds a sell-on clause as part of the player’s sale to the Bundesliga club in 2021.

Indeed, it was assumed at the time that Leverkusen would owe the Parkhead club 30% of any future earnings from Frimpong.

Slot machines might provide Celtic land with a fortune. Christian Falk, a German transfer insider, claims he has been chatting with the 24-year-old about a move: “Jeremie Frimpong and Arne Slot were on the phone a lot last month,” Falk [Record].

“They’re both Dutch, and Slot wanted to sign him in the summer.”

“The Liverpool head coach had been telling the full-back he was still keen to get him.”

Celtic will be watching with a keen interest this summer.

Despite winning the Scottish Premiership title at Tannadice the weekend before last, they have yet to receive their massive Champions League prize money and must compete in a play-off to go to the elite league round.
