Antony Slashes Wages In Desperate Bid To Escape Man Utd For Dream Move To Betis

Antony is reportedly willing to accept a 30% pay cut to secure a permanent move away from Manchester United this summer.

The winger currently earns £150,000 per week at Old Trafford but is prepared to drop his wages to £95,000 weekly.

This move is aimed at helping Real Betis, where Antony enjoyed a strong loan spell, afford to make his transfer permanent.

He contributed 14 goal involvements in 26 appearances for Betis, helping them reach the UEFA Conference League final in May.

Antony’s desire to return has reignited Betis’ interest, despite financial concerns surrounding a full-time transfer from Manchester United.

United are open to offloading Antony and hope to generate funds toward meeting profit and sustainability requirements this summer.

The Red Devils need around £32.58 million to avoid a financial loss, well below the £85m they paid for Antony, reports Mirror.

Antony recently spoke about his love for Betis, saying the city, people, and lifestyle remind him of his home in Brazil.

He also noted that playing time and happiness were key to his resurgence after struggling to impress under new boss Ruben Amorim.

United manager Amorim wants unwanted players gone before the U.S. pre-season tour, with Antony not featuring in his future plans.
