Amorim ‘Throws Man United Academy Players Under Bus’ In Mainoo Rant

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has come under fire for reportedly throwing Red Devils’ young players “under the bus” after a vicious attack at the team’s academy.

Famed for their junior academy, United haven’t seen many youngsters succeed under Amorim.

Former star boy and FA Cup hero Kobbie Mainoo was benched this season under the Portuguese manager and is reportedly looking to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Star, Amorim claims club legends Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt “sometimes don’t have all the information” as he stated that the 20-year-old from Stockport, Greater Manchester has not taken advantage of his opportunities.

After failing to start in the Premier League this season, Scholes and Butt stated that Mainoo must leave United for the sake of his career.

Amorim Claims Man United Academy Products Are Not Good Enough

Amorim went ahead by acknowledging that United are “underachieving” and implying that three Academy players who got promoted to the first team did so too soon.

In a spectacular rant, Amorim said: “He [Toby Collyer] played [for the first team].

“He’s from the academy. He played here. He went to West Bromwich. He’s not playing. He played for Manchester United. So sometimes it’s not because he’s from the academy or whatever.

“It’s the situation, what’s happened. I don’t know what is going to be the future [for Mainoo]). Let’s see after this match. [Harry] Amass is now struggling in the Championship.

“Chido [Obi] is not always a starter in under 21s. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying sack the manager!”
