Amorim Reveals Stance On Fernandes Future At Man United

Fernandes responded to the circulating rumors over his future following United’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

The midfielder admitted that in order to raise money in the summer, the club could sell him.

Al-Hilal, a major club in the Saudi Pro League, have expressed interest in the Portugal international and have seemingly set a deadline for the deal.

According to Goal, amid speculation over Fernandes’ future at Old Trafford, manager Amorim addressed the issue as he told reporters: “He’s really important for us and really important for what we want to build with this team.”

Due to financial problems, the 40-year-old also talked about the club’s summer transfer ambitions after missing out on a European spot for the upcoming season.

Amorim said: “Without Champions League, we don’t need a big squad, we can control the squad in a better way, then we have a plan that is to bring some new players, of course…

“(The squad) is not going to change so much because we have FFP rules. We are not allowed to do much this summer.”

The Red Devils are presently on a post-season tour of Asia in Malaysia, where they will play two friendly games against the Hong Kong national team on Friday and the ASEAN All-Stars XI on Wednesday.
