Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim has reportedly stated that Kobbie Mainoo is the future of the club despite restricted minutes of action.
With just one Carabao Cup start in 12 games this season, the 20-year-old seems to have lost favour at Old Trafford.
Amorim stated last week that the midfield player must “fight for his job,” but a calf injury sustained during training prior to Sunday’s loss to Aston Villa has now prevented him from doing so at a time when the team is missing seven more players.
Amorim States Mainoo Needs To Wait For His Chance
According to The Independent, the United manager hinted that he is adopting a longer-term perspective despite the player’s lack of opportunities this season.

“Kobbie Mainoo will have the opportunity he has all the time. He played in different positions: he can do that (defensive midfield) position, he can play if we play with three, he can play like we play in the last game – the position of Mason Mount in this game (a number 10 who drops into midfield).
