Richard Keys has reportedly claimed that Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has “all but resigned” with his comments following the Red Devils’ defeat to West Ham United.
Amorim acknowledged that he might not be the right man for the Red Devils if they carry their Premier League performance over into the upcoming campaign.
“I don’t want to talk about the players,” he said. “I’m talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. I have that feeling.
“We need to change that and we need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave. Because we cannot have a season like this next year. If the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different persons.”
Keys, the anchor for beIN Sports, feels that this position supports his suspicion that Amorim is trying to get fired.
According to The Mirror, Amorim’s status will be reviewed by the Old Trafford administration at the end of the season.
Even if United defeat Tottenham in the Europa League final, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s co-owner, Omar Berrada, and the rest of the management will still evaluate the Portuguese coach’s performance.
“How long have I been saying Ruben Amorim has been trying to get the sack? You all laughed at me,” Keys wrote in his latest blog.
“Well, now what? Because this weekend, he all but resigned. It’s hard to interpret his post-match comments after the West Ham defeat any other way.”
