Alonso Sends Rodrygo Transfer Message Amid Arsenal Interest

Real Madrid head coach, Xabi Alonso has given another update regarding Rodrygo Goes’ future and provided more proof that the Arsenal target will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This summer, Rodrygo, 24, has been linked to a move to Arsenal. According to reports, the Brazilian is ‘high’ on the Gunners’ summer shortlist as they want to bolster their offensive.

Rodrygo, who was acquired from Santos in June 2018 for £39.3 million, has spent the last seven years with Real Madrid, where he has won 13 trophies, including two UEFA Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles.

The Brazilian has made 267 appearances throughout that time, contributing 50 assists and 68 goals.

It was reported, however, that Rodrygo was ‘frustrated’ under former manager Carlo Ancelotti because he was not playing in his favorite position, which is said to be on the left side of the attack. Vinicius Jr.’s presence and Kylian Mbappe’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain had an effect on Rodrygo.

After speaking with Rodrygo, Alonso gave more details about the £84 million-rated player ahead of Real Madrid’s first Club World Cup match against Al-Hilal.

According to Football London, the Spanish manager has hinted that Rodrygo will remain at the La Liga team.

Alonso said: “I know what had happened. The end of the season wasn’t easy for him. He took some time to reset. We’ve talked since day one, and I see him eager to contribute on the field and enjoy himself.”

According to reports, his father and agent, Eric Goes is unwilling to engage in talks with Arsenal or any other team at this time as he claimed his son is ‘charmed’ by Alonso.
