Real Madrid boss, Xabi Alonso has reportedly stated that Kylian Mbappe could feature in the Spanish Super Cup.
The France international’s left knee injury was confirmed by Los Blancos last week. At first, it was believed that the injury, which was discovered during training, would keep the forward out of action until later in the month.
With Mbappe possibly taking part in the Spanish Super Cup, it is acknowledged that the issue is not as severe as initially thought.
According to Sports Mole, Alonso claimed a decision has not yet been taken about the 27-year-old’s participation in the competition in Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid will play Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semifinals On January 8. On January 11, they could play either Athletic Bilbao or Barcelona in the final.
Journalist Mario Cortegana claims that while Mbappe’s participation in the semi-final matchup with Atletico is improbable, the attacker might make a comeback for a potential final.
According to the report, Mbappe, who has made 24 appearances for Los Blancos in the 2025–26 season with 29 goals and five assists, will not be called by Real Madrid until the very last minute.
Gonzalo Garcia scored a hat trick in the 5-1 victory against Real Betis in Mbappe’s absence, and even if the France international is considered fit for selection, the Spaniard may start against Atletico.
