Akanji Names Two Teams Stronger Than Arsenal In Champions League

Arsenal have reportedly been told that there are two teams which are superior to them in the Champions League this season.

The Gunners’ perfect League Phase record is on the line when they play Inter Milan in Italy tonight.

Since Arsenal are the only team to have won all six of their Champions League matches this season, they are the clear favourites to win the competition for the first time.

However, not everyone is persuaded.

According to The Evening Standard, former Manchester City player Manuel Akanji, who will play for Inter when the Gunners visit San Siro on Tuesday night, claims he doesn’t think Mikel Arteta’s team should be feared.

“They’re among the best in Europe, but not the best,” he told reporters. “I don’t think they’re stronger than Atletico Madrid or Liverpool. It’ll be a good match.

“Have they improved? I don’t watch much football anymore. I have three children at home and I already have a lot of football in my work.

“They definitely have a lot of good players and they’re consistent, which is important to be competitive.

“What does it take to beat them? Against the big teams, mistakes can be punished. We have to be effective in attack and clean in possession.”
