Real Madrid’s presidential election turned out to be much closer than predicted, particularly after Florentino Perez was declared the obvious favourite after playing the €150 million trump card.
In the end, he was formally re-elected as Real Madrid’s president and will continue to make decisions for Los Blancos, Reported On X.
At the midpoint of the survey, Enrique Riquelme was not far behind, with 35% of the vote. Perez, on the other hand, maintained the majority and will be officially reinstalled as president this week.
The Socios cast 33,555 ballots to elect the club’s new president, resulting in a turnout of less than 40%.
There were 21,741 votes for Perez and 14,814 for Enrique Riquelme. The final results show Perez winning with about 65% of the vote.

Perez and his crew will be relieved by the outcome, as they never anticipated to come so close, especially with his opponent having only a few weeks to campaign. Needless to say, it will set off alarm bells.
With the elections over and the future president confirmed, Real Madrid can begin making and publicly announcing signings and transactions.
Jose Mourinho’s hiring is most likely the first to be made official. Soon after, Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate are expected to be revealed as well.
Perez will then aim to activate his €150 million star signing, as well as a pair of midfield players. Needless to say, he has a busy month ahead of him in the office.
