Victor Osimhen is reportedly being considered by Atletico Madrid as a potential replacement for Julian Alvarez, a target for Arsenal.
With Atletico incensed about Barcelona’s open pursuit of their star, the Argentina international’s future is already beginning to look like one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas.
In a string of social media messages last week, Los Colchoneros attacked the Catalan giants, saying they would stop at nothing to prevent a possible transfer to the Camp Nou.
However, AS reported this week that Arsenal are also interested in the former Manchester City player and that they intend to start negotiations for a transfer shortly.

Alvarez’s representative has already been contacted by the Premier League champions, who have another alternative at the top of their summer priorities.
Atletico are adamant about keeping the World Cup winner, but according to AS, they have started considering potential replacements.
Atletico Interested In Osimhen
The report stated that the Spanish team inquiring about the availability of the Galatasaray star, Osimhen is one possibility.
Despite having just completed his second full season in Turkey, several European teams are still interested in the Nigeria international.
According to the report, Manchester United are one of the clubs still keeping an eye on the former Napoli star.
Michael Carrick’s team want to add another striker to battle with Benjamin Sesko in the upcoming campaign.
The 27-year-old scored 22 goals in 33 games during the 2025–26 season after signing a permanent contract with Gala last summer for £65 million.
Eric Chelle, the head coach of Nigeria, recently stirred some controversy when he implied that Osimhen had been left out of the squad for friendly matches against Poland and Portugal because of a potential move.
“He had maybe to change a club, so I prefer that he stays, because if you play and you are not at hundred percent, this is not good,” Chelle said.
