Wednesday was a big day for Real Madrid’s presidential elections, with both Enrique Riquelme and Florentino Perez making huge statements.
The tension, however, culminated when Perez dropped a bomb just as Riquelme was about to announce his huge deal, taking the focus at the perfect time.
The bomb he dropped at that point was the manager he had planned for next season if he were re-elected, and the name was not shocking in the least.
The Special One
The news was made on the X site of Florentino Perez’s political campaign, rather than by Real Madrid.
In a video put on the page, Perez and co. released a portrait of Mourinho, stating that if elected president, the Portuguese manager will oversee Real Madrid.

The Merengues have had an arrangement with Mourinho for some weeks, but this is the first formal declaration.
It’s a matter of time
Mourinho’s employment has been confirmed, and an official announcement is imminent. This, too, appears to be a possibility.
Real Madrid’s presidential election will take place later this week, and with the results due soon after, the winner will be known in less than a well.
Official announcements may be made after the club’s incoming president is selected, and Mourinho’s might be the first to go public. The sole aspect in this is that Perez must win, as is expected of him.
At this stage, however, Mourinho has a significant influence on Real Madrid’s transfer decisions and is actively involved in the planning for the coming season.
