Mid-Table Premier League Club Have More Players At World Cup Than Real Madrid, Liverpool

Crystal Palace will have more players than Real Madrid and Liverpool following the formal finalisation of all 48 squads for the 2026 World Cup on June 2.

12 players from Palace have been chosen to represent nations from all around the world at the global competition, giving them something else to celebrate after winning UEFA Conference League.

With only Manchester City (19), Bayern Munich (18), Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal (16), and Barcelona (15) having more players from their squad in the World Cup, Palace are ranked among the top teams in the world thanks to those 12 players.

The South London side are tied with Al Hilal, Manchester United, and Atletico Madrid.

According to ESPN, the Eagles have more players leaving for the United States, Canada, and Mexico than European giants Real Madrid, Liverpool, and AC Milan, even though they finished 15th in the Premier League.

This comes after Los Blancos did not have a single player selected in Spain’s squad for the first time in World Cup history, and Palace had more players – Yeremy Pino – selected in Luis De La Fuente’s side than Real Madrid.

Crystal Palace Players Going To The World Cup

Representing Crystal Palace on the global stage this summer will be: Chadi Riad (Morocco), Chris Richards (USA), Evann Guessand (Ivory Coast), Daichi Kamada (Japan), Yéremy Pino (Spain), Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix (Both France), Jørgen Strand Larsen (Norway), Ismaïla Sarr (Senegal), Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma (Colombia) and Dean Henderson (England).

Sunderland and Aston Villa, both of which have nine players traveling to the World Cup, are two more Premier League teams with noticeably a lot of players.

Chelsea, Brighton, and Tottenham Hotspur all have eight players, although the west London team will have Mike Penders (Belgium) and Nicolas Jackson (Senegal) back at Stamford Bridge next season.
