Manchester United has officially finalized Rasmus Hojlund’s permanent move to Napoli.
Last summer, Hojlund joined Napoli on a season-long loan, with a conditional obligation to purchase if he helped Gli Azzurri qualify for the Champions League.
The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in 33 Serie A games as Napoli finished second to winners Inter Milan, securing a spot at Europe’s top table for the next season.
Furthermore, the Italian club has exercised its rumored £38 million option, providing Manchester United with a timely windfall. This is the club’s third confirmed move of the summer, following the exits of Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia.

A statement reads: “Rasmus Hojlund has joined Napoli on a permanent basis, Reported on X.
“The Danish international spent last season on loan at the Italian club, scoring 16 times in 44 appearances across all competitions, and has now signed a permanent deal with the Neapolitans.
“The childhood United supporter joined from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 and went on to score 26 goals in 95 games.
“He was part of the Liverpool side that won the Emirates FA Cup in May 2024, coming on as a substitute against Manchester City at Wembley.
“At the start of the 2025/26 season, Hojlund returned to Italy on a season-long loan, helping Napoli win the Supercoppa Italiana and finish second in Serie A.”
“Everyone at the club would like to wish Rasmus all the very best for the future.”
He stated
“This objective was significant since it represented two things. We have already secured the Champions League with Napoli, which means that due to my contract, I am now officially a Napoli player and will be saying goodbye to Manchester United.
“That seems strange, since for the past year, I’ve felt like a Napoli player. I’m very thankful to you fans for supporting me, making me feel at home, and allowing me to regain my confidence.
“Saying farewell to Manchester United is an emotional experience. My boyhood goal came true when I played at Old Trafford in a red shirt.
“So the goal today represents a fresh confident start, in which I will offer all to Napoli in the next months, as well as a thank you to everyone of Manchester United’s fans, players, and staff for making my childhood dream a reality.
“It’s time for new dreams, so let’s chase them.”
