Konate To Leave Liverpool And Will ‘Likely’ Join PSG

Ibrahima Konate is leaving Liverpool this summer, and his “most likely” next club could be better than the Reds at this point.

In April, Konate openly said that a new deal was imminent and appeared to be on track to prolong his time on Merseyside. Although a general agreement was reached, there were still a few issues that could not be resolved.

For the Reds, this is bittersweet news. On the one hand, Konate has had a terrible season—possibly his worst since joining Anfield—and only Cody Gakpo has angered Liverpool supporters more.

On the other hand, Konate had mostly established himself as a top-tier centre-half before this most recent campaign, and at the age of 27, Liverpool are losing a player in the prime of his career.

The Reds will re-enter the centre-back market as a result of this situation. In addition to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Jeremy Jacquet, and Giovanni Leoni, another player is anticipated to join the defensive department.

However, a report from the Daily Mail indicates that Konate is not going to the Bernabeu.

Konate Could Move To PSG

The piece claimed that a move to PSG, who are without a doubt the best team in world football at the moment, is on the horizon.

The report read: “Despite the previous reports linking him to the Bernabeu, it is understood Paris Saint-Germain is the most likely destination for Konate this summer.

“PSG, who are gearing up for their huge Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday, already have a string of talented defenders within their ranks, including Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Illia Zabarnyi at the heart of defence.

“The move would allow Konate to move back to Paris, his place of birth, after aiding France during their World Cup campaign in the USA, Mexico and Canada.”
