Jose Mourinho has reportedly given Real Madrid instructions to stave off competition from Manchester United and Arsenal in order to capture Sporting midfielder, Morten Hjulmand this summer.
Mourinho is expected to return to the Bernabeu 13 years after his first spell ended, although Madrid are waiting until the end of the season to formally confirm his appointment as manager.
After what has been an incredibly disappointing season for Los Blancos, it is believed that Mourinho has verbally agreed to a two-year contract in the Spanish capital.
The Portuguese tactician will be in charge of mending a broken dressing room that has sunk into turmoil and internal strife in the last days of Alvaro Arbeloa’s temporary tenure, in addition to supervising an improvement in results and performances on the field.

Madrid’s management is getting ready to enter the summer transfer window in an attempt to assist Mourinho in closing the gap with fierce rivals Barcelona, as the club are set to end trophyless for the second consecutive season.
Mourinho Hold Talks With Real Madrid Management
According to Cadena COPE as reported by the Metro, Mourinho has already been involved in talks with key decision-makers to discuss potential signings for the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Mourinho was greatly impressed with Sporting holding midfielder Hjulmand during his eight months as Benfica’s manager. The Special One has urged Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, to approve a deal.
Sporting are reportedly not in a rush to part with Hjulmand, although an offer of about €50 million (£43 million) would be sufficient to get the 26-year-old Denmark international.
In recent weeks, Hjulmand has also attracted the attention of both Manchester United and the recently crowned Premier League champions Arsenal, who are both looking to bolster their midfield.
