Man United Make Transfer ‘Decision’ As Newcastle Braced For Sandro Tonali Interest

Manchester United are apparently planning a significant transfer deal this summer, which may be excellent news for Newcastle United.

The Red Devils are reportedly close to completing a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, who is expected to depart the City Ground in the summer.

Michael Carrick’s side are looking to replace the departing Casemiro this summer, and had identified Tonali and Anderson as two candidates, along with Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.

Anderson, who is expected to play a major role for England at the World Cup currently looks to be their top target, while rivals Manchester City might yet make a bid for Tonali, as reported by Chronicle News.

City manager Pep Guardiola is thought to be a huge fan of both Anderson and Tonali, but reports from the North West claim they are about to accept a new deal with Spanish midfielder Rodri, which will decrease their need for fresh signings.

Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Rodi’s position, as well as Tonali and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, as they sought to expand their alternatives.

While Tonali may struggle to reject offers from the La Liga heavyweights, Fernandez has expressed a desire to reside in the Spanish capital, for which he and his agency later apologised to Chelsea.

Tonali has been silent about his future, while his agent Giuseppe Riso has stated that they would examine his status at the end of the season, with a lack of Champions League play a source of concern for United.

With Italy failing to qualify for the World Cup, he will no longer be the focus of international football once the season finishes, with speculation over his future certain to grow unless a statement is issued either way.
