Liverpool Lead Chelsea in Race to Sign RB Leipzig Star

Liverpool appear to have taken an early advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign highly rated RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in Europe after an impressive debut campaign in Germany following his move from CD Leganés last summer.

RB Leipzig signed Diomande for €20 million in 2025, but his value has risen sharply after a standout season that has reportedly attracted interest from several top European clubs.

The Ivory Coast international has already delivered 11 goals and eight assists in 30 matches this season, underlining his ability to influence games consistently from wide attacking areas.

Both Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC are said to be ready to spend big in order to secure his signature, reports Sports Witness.

Anfield Dream Could Influence Transfer Decision

One major factor working in Liverpool’s favour is Diomande’s previously declared admiration for the Reds.

The winger openly admitted earlier this year that he dreams of playing at Anfield, revealing that he and his family have long supported Liverpool.

That public statement could now become a key talking point if both English clubs decide to make formal offers this summer.

With Liverpool expected to strengthen their forward line, Diomande is increasingly looking like one of the club’s most serious attacking targets ahead of next season.
