Spain Boss Announces Real Madrid, Arsenal Youngsters Have Chosen To Represent La Roja

Real Madrid star, Thiago Pitarch has committed to play for La Roja, according to Spain manager Luis de la Fuente.

The Atlas Lions have been lobbying for the rising midfielder to play for Morocco as well, but it appears he will wear La Roja for the time being.

Pitarch has started Real Madrid’s last five games in a row and has had a significant impact over the past month.

The 18-year-old has been called up to the under-19 squad, despite rumours that he might already be in the senior squad.

Pitarch was already a part of the under-19 squad and played three times when called up in February and September.

De la Fuente Confirms Pitarch, Mosquera Have Chosen Spain

According to Football Espana, De la Fuente said: “It’s a similar case to Mosquera’s. The great news is that Thiago wants to play for Spain; he’s very committed to the national team, and that, as with other players, makes us very happy.

“We fully respect anyone who decides otherwise and prefers to play for another country, wishing them all the best, but I’m very pleased that Thiago has chosen to wear our jersey.”

Cristhian Mosquera, a defender for Arsenal, is one member of the senior squad.

The former Valencia player has been a mainstay in the under-21 teams lately, but because of his dual nationality, Colombia were eager to have him play for them.

He is currently competing for a berth in Spain’s World Cup team.

“Mosquera is another important player who has joined our cause. He’s having a great season with Arsenal, and his versatility is key, as he can play both center-back and full-back.

“The situation at center-back doesn’t worry me; he brings us a lot of versatility, he’s very fast, he always stays focused, and he has all the experience of having come through the youth ranks.

“It’s hard to ask for a better introduction.”
