A court has heard that former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey would refute two fresh accusations of rape.
Partey was scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday after being accused of two counts of raping a woman on a date in December 2020. Partey left the north London team in the summer to join Villarreal.
Daily Star stated that the 32-year-old was excused from the hearing, but according to Emma Fenn, his attorney, he plans to enter a not guilty plea to both charges.
The Ghana international was accused last year with five charges of rape against two women and sexual assault against a third alleged victim, following a Metropolitan Police investigation.

These accusations, which go back to 2021 and 2022, have been refuted by him. He will go on trial at Southwark Crown Court in November.
Furthermore, the court was informed that the additional rape allegations surfaced subsequent to the initial charges being made public.

Arabella MacDonald, prosecuting, told the court: “Mr Partey faces two further charges of rape dating back to December 2020.
“The complainant came forward after news of Mr Partey’s other matters were widely publicised.”
The two fresh charges against an alleged fourth victim were submitted to the crown court by Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram for a hearing on 10 April.
Partey was granted bail on Friday, subject to the requirement that he refrain from communicating with the purported victim. He is anticipated to be present at the upcoming April court session.
