Arsenal Ahead Of Man Utd And Liverpool In Race To Sign £75m ‘Fastest Man In Football’

According to sources, Arsenal leads Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to recruit Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon this summer.

The north London club is thought to be hoping to sign the England international after the season and believes he would be willing to move south and to London.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, a long-time admirer of Gordon, is aiming to bolster his options on the left wing, potentially replacing Gabriel Martinelli.

Gordon has two years left on his Newcastle deal, and the Magpies are thought to have asked for £95 million for the forward.

Arsenal Keen on Signing Anthony Gordon

According to The Sun, Arsenal intend to sign Gordon for less than Newcastle’s asking price this summer, with the transfer potentially costing the Gunners around £75 million.

There is speculation Gordon might leave Newcastle if they receive a good offer after the season, especially if they have no European football to offer.

Eddie Howe’s squad is currently 11th in the Premier League table with 11 games remaining, nine points behind Liverpool in sixth, and have only won once in their previous six games.

Gordon, dubbed ‘the quickest man in football’, had only three Premier League goals this season but is second in Champions League scoring with ten.
