According to a football finance expert, Manchester City might lose 40 to 60 points if they are proven guilty of some of the most serious claims against them.
The Premier League and City are still awaiting the outcome of 115 alleged financial violations committed by the team between 2009 and 2018.
The hearing into City’s alleged violations of the Premier League’s financial rules came to a close in December 2024 after a 12-week trial, but the independent commission has not yet released its findings.
City are believed to be confident of being cleared because they have denied any misconduct.
The tribunal and the commission have been deliberating for 14 months now.

An estimated 500,000 pieces of evidence were produced by the prosecution and defence during the hearing, according to football finance specialist Kieran Maguire, who has been following the case closely.
Man City Could Face Up To 60-Point Deduction
“The Premier League cannot relegate Manchester City to League One or League Two because that’s an EFL decision and Manchester City have not had any charges proven against them by the EFL, so therefore it has to be a points deduction,” Maguire explained on The Overlap Fan Debate.
