Arsenal Enter Late Talks To Sign Player Following Tonali Update

Arsenal have reportedly entered last-minute negotiations to sign an “incredible” player after a fresh update on their chase of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Earlier today, there were claims the Gunners had initiated talks over a deal for Newcastle star Tonali, following the injury blow to Mikel Merino, with the versatile Spaniard set for a time on the sidelines after sustaining a foot injury in the defeat against Manchester United.

It has subsequently come to light, though, that the early rumours might have been inaccurate, and the Magpies would never approve of a move.

With both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus being available for selection once again, Mikel Arteta is well-stocked at centre-forward, but a striker has now surfaced as a transfer target in the dying hours of the window.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, recently stated on X that Arsenal have started negotiations for Hearts’ James Wilson with an initial loan move planned.

Wilson, who is only 18, has already received a cap for the Scotland national team.

The Gunners are currently in club-to-club negotiations with Hearts, ostensibly in an effort to finalize a deal before tonight’s 7 p.m. deadline.

There is no need to add another experienced striker because, as was already mentioned, Arteta has a plethora of options upfront, with both Viktor Gyokeres and Jesus demonstrating their importance by scoring in the team’s most recent 4-0 victory over Leeds United.
