Raheem Sterling Parts Ways With Chelsea After 18 Months

Raheem Sterling has officially left Chelsea by mutual consent, ending his £325,000-a-week contract 18 months before its original expiry date.

The 31-year-old winger’s last Chelsea appearance came in May 2024, when he scored against Bournemouth to help secure Conference League qualification.

Sterling spent much of his time at Stamford Bridge in isolation, training separately after falling out of the club’s future plans.

A season-long loan to Arsenal followed, where Sterling’s performances were underwhelming, despite his experience at the highest level of English football.

Chelsea confirmed the split in a statement thanking Sterling for his contributions over three-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge since 2022.

Future Opportunities Await for Sterling

Sterling shared a short message on Instagram, saying: “All eyes on the future. God is great,” hinting at a fresh chapter ahead.

Sources close to the 82-cap England international suggest he is now a free agent, expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe.

His departure also offers Chelsea meaningful financial relief while allowing the winger to revive his career at a club with ambition, reports Daily Mail.

Signed for £47.5million from Manchester City in 2022, Sterling was the first major acquisition under Chelsea’s Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership.

The winger’s next destination remains unknown, but with his Premier League experience and still being in his early thirties, opportunities are expected to follow.
