Liverpool Closing In On ‘Outstanding’ Premier League Star

Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder, Adam Wharton.

Fichajes claims that Wharton is “very close” to joining Liverpool. With three caps under his belt, the England international has been an important member of the Eagles lately. He has a contract with Selhurst Park up to the summer of 2029.

The South London team signed 21-year-old Wharton in 2024, and he has since adjusted nicely to the move up to the top division. 31 of his 74 appearances in all competitions were made this season.

The man, who was born in Lancashire, helped the Eagles defeat Manchester City in the Wembley FA Cup final last year, defying all odds under Oliver Glasner.

The Blackburn native progressed through the Blackburn Rovers academy. Before making his debut in their first squad, he was a regular at several different youth levels. The youngster went on to take part in 51 games and scored four goals.

Despite winning the championship last season, Arne Slot’s team have struggled this year. The Reds have the opportunity to bolster their roster before the January transfer window closes.

The Merseyside giants have until Monday, February 2nd, to finalize any agreements.

Liverpool will play Qarabag at home in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night. They are coming off a 3-2 loss on the road at AFC Bournemouth in their most recent league match.

The Reds are now in sixth place in the Premier League standings.
