Chelsea have reportedly overtaken Arsenal in the chase of Marseille forward, Robinio Vaz.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea and Arsenal have “set their sights” on acquiring the 18-year-old, sparking “a major transfer battle.”
Vaz’s emergence as one of Ligue 1’s “standout” young players this season has sparked attention from the two Premier League giants.
Chelsea have demonstrated their interest in Vaz after “establishing contact” with his agent and “maintaining open communication” with Marseille officials.

The report claimed that Chelsea are “exploring the possibility of launching a formal offer in January,” which would allow them to add Vaz to their list of promising youngsters.
Arsenal on the other hand are “taking a more patient approach” to the possible transfer. Although they have been “tracking” his development for a number of years, the Gunners are unlikely to make a move in January.
Arsenal may not start negotiations for Vaz until next summer or later because they want to wait until he has progressed more.
Marseille have no intention of selling him as the Frenchman is protected by his contract, which expires in June 2028.
To get Vaz to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this winter, a bid of €20–30 million (£18–26 million) will probably be required, which is a significant price for an 18-year-old.
However, Marseille believe that his “rising status” in the French game justifies this fee.
Vaz scored in his second appearance in Ligue 1, and in his last seven league games, he has three goals and two assists.
