Real Madrid Suffer Blow As Dani Carvajal Ruled Out With Knee Injury

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been ruled out of action after suffering another knee problem that requires surgery.

The 33-year-old right-back made his return from injury in Sunday’s 2-1 El Clásico victory over Barcelona but will now face another lengthy spell out.

According to the club, Carvajal has been diagnosed with a loose body in his right knee joint and will undergo arthroscopic surgery.

Carvajal to miss Liverpool and Manchester City clashes

Real Madrid confirmed that Carvajal will miss next week’s Champions League trip to Liverpool.

Spanish media reports suggest he could be sidelined for six to ten weeks, which would also rule him out of Manchester City’s visit on December 10.

The experienced defender is therefore unlikely to feature in Spain’s World Cup qualifiers next month.

Another injury setback for Madrid captain

Carvajal previously endured a serious knee injury in 2024 that sidelined him for most of last season, reports Sports NDTV.

This latest setback comes just as he was beginning to regain fitness and rhythm under Carlo Ancelotti.

His absence leaves Real Madrid short of options at right-back, with Lucas Vázquez expected to fill in during his recovery.

As Madrid continue to chase success in La Liga and Europe, losing their captain and defensive leader will be a major concern for the weeks ahead.
