Rashford Sends Message To Man United Over Barcelona Stay

Marcus Rashford has reportedly told Manchester United he wants to prolong stay at Barcelona beyond the 2025/26 season.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from United during the summer transfer window, with a £28 million option to make the move permanent next summer.

Rashford spent the summer waiting for a move to the Spanish champions after United manager Ruben Amorim made it apparent that the 27-year-old had no future at Old Trafford.

With five goals and six assists in 12 games this season, Rashford has had a strong start for Barcelona.

The England international is also eager to join Hansi Flick’s team on a permanent basis.

Asked if he wants to stay at Barcelona, Rashford told ESPN: “Oh yeah, for sure.

“I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player is an honour.”

Having played for United since he was seven years old, Rashford believes it was time for a change in his career.

“It was so many years in one place. People forget this, but 24 years, 23 years of my life was with Manchester United,” Rashford said.

“So sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me and yeah, I’m enjoying everything.”
