Liverpool Now Racing PSG To Sign “Excellent” £80m Star Likened To Desire Doue

Liverpool is apparently competing with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of an £80 million prospect who has been compared to the French club’s own young sensation Desire Doue.

Liverpool International Round-Up

Liverpool’s stars have had an impressive couple of weeks away with their nationalities, despite entering the international break after three consecutive defeats in all competitions.

Just last night, Dominik Szoboszlai was in the right location at the right moment to score Hungary’s last-gasp level against Portugal. Meanwhile, Argentina’s Alexis MacAllister and the Netherlands’ Cody Gakpo have both scored freely.

Almost every Liverpool player has had at least one chance to celebrate for their countries over the break. Virgil van Dijk scored, Giorgi Mamardashvili saved a penalty for Georgia, and Mohamed Salah scored to help Egypt qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Those moments should serve as the perfect antidote to Liverpool’s recent performance as they prepare to host rivals Manchester United at Anfield this weekend. The Reds must win this game to restore their composure in the early stages of their Premier League championship defence.

The international break may also have given Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards time to prepare ahead. They already broke Liverpool’s transfer record twice this summer by signing Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, but now they’re competing with PSG to capture an £80 million star.

Liverpool  racing PSG to sign Rogers.

According to rumors in Spain, Liverpool is now competing with PSG to sign Morgan Rogers, who Aston Villa values at up to £80 million ahead of next summer.

While the England international still has five years left on his current contract, Villa Park officials have plenty of PSR worries to consider and may be forced to accept a large offer if one comes around.

For a player of Rogers’ caliber, the £80 million fee might be well worth it for Liverpool, who have been lacking a key piece in their championship defense this season.

Rogers, who is compared to PSG star Doue for his unpredictability, dribbling, and directness, has every possibility of reaching the same level as the Frenchman if he joins Liverpool.

However, whether Unai Emery is willing to let his star player depart remains to be seen. Rogers, described as “excellent” by England manager Thomas Tuchel, is critical to any objectives that those in the Midlands have already set for themselves.
