David de Gea former Manchester United goalkeeper, has written a message to Fiorentina fans following his team’s dismal start to the season.
The club is currently in 17th place in Serie A, just clear of the relegation zone on goal difference.
Following a 2-1 loss at home to Roma on Sunday, they are one of just four clubs yet to win in their first six games of the season. Fiorentina has drawn three and lost three of their matches.
Moise Kean put them ahead against Roma, but Matias Soule and Bryan Cristante scored in the first half to turn the game around.
De Gea took to Instagram after the game to share a photo of the team in a huddle, as well as a message to fans.

Understand our supporters’ bad spirits; the season has not gone as planned,” he remarked.
“The squad is disappointed with everything thus far, but we’re giving it our all and will battle for this club.
Bruno Fernandes, the United captain and De Gea’s former teammate, ‘liked’ the post. He was also inundated with messages of encouragement from Fiorentina supporters in the comments section.
Like the Premier League, Serie A will now have a break for international matches. It means De Gea and his teammates will have some extra time before returning to play.
But things don’t get any easier for the team with an away game against Milan at the San Siro on Sunday, October 19 (7.45pm kickoff).
Despite their disappointing domestic season thus far, Fiorentina has enjoyed more success in Europe. They defeated Polissya Zhytomyr in the Europa Conference League play-offs in August and began the campaign with a 2-0 home victory over Sigma last Thursday.
