Erling Haaland criticized Manchester City as “not good enough” when chaos erupted toward the end of their Champions League encounter against Monaco.
City twice lost a lead to draw 2-2 in France, with two red cards issued and ex-Tottenham defender Eric Dier scoring a late penalty to seal the draw. The Premier League giants seized the lead within the opening 15 minutes thanks to their Norwegian striker, who latched onto Josko Gvardiol’s lofted pass before neatly lobbing the ball over Monaco goalkeeper Philipp Kohn.
Monaco, however, equalised less than three minutes later with a strike from the edge of the box by Jordan Teze. The former PSV player delivered an outstanding finish, leaving Gianluigi Donnarumma with no chance. Despite this setback, City maintained their offensive momentum and recovered the lead just before halftime, thanks to Haaland once more.

City’s talisman had only seven touches in the first half and scored twice, heading Nico O’Reilly’s cross into the bottom corner. Pep Guardiola’s team dominated the majority of the second half, hoping to win the Champions League for the second time in a row, but chaos broke out in the 90th minute when Monaco converted a penalty.
Dier was outraged after City substitute Nico Gonzalez seemed to punch him in the face, according to the Mirror. Referee Jesus Gil Manzano initially dismissed the appeals on the field, but was later advised by VAR to assess the event on his pitch-side monitor.
Monaco begged Manzano to review his decision, while the technical area consulted with the goalkeeping coach and were satisfied it was not a penalty.
