Real Madrid Castilla defender, Jesus Fortea was expected to act as a cover in the absence of Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold, but the young player was called up to the Spain squad for the U-20 World Cup. Instead, Jimenez has been called up for tomorrow’s match against Kairat Almaty.

Jimenez was called up to the squad in the past for games against Levante and Espanyol. Although his big break hasn’t come yet, last season, Carlo Ancelotti used him to provide depth on the bench against Alaves and Mallorca.
