FPL GW2 Recap: Time To Move On From Haaland And Salah? iSoccer Winners

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek two started on a lower affair and ended somewhat on a brighter note.

Majority of managers were already anticipating Cole Palmer’s (£10.5m) potential point haul against a leaky West Ham United side who lost their opening match against newly promoted Sunderland.
However, despite being named in Chelsea’s starting line-up, the England international withdrew from the game following a knock in warm-up.
Well, another popular pick, Joao Pedro (£7.6m) came to the rescue with three attacking returns to claim 15 points. A big congratulations to those who took the initiative of handing him the armband.
Following a blank from Erling Haaland (£14.1m), all eyes were on Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) who was the gameweek’s most captained asset as Liverpool travelled to St. James’ Park to lock horns with Newcastle United.
Just as all hopes were lost, the 33-year-old provided the assist for the winner with a minute of action left to play pulling up the same way in the Reds’ 4-2 win against Bournemouth in the first game of the campaign.

Talking about Haaland and Salah, there have been some concerns about the two major assets over their drop in points in the first two gameweeks compared to last season.
Priced at £15.0m, which was the highest ever in the history of the game, Haaland began the 2024/25 campaign like a house on fire scoring four goals in the first two matches to collect 25 points which was 10 more than the total he has racked up in the first two of the new term.
This is also similar with Salah, who plundered 25 points following three attacking returns at this stage last season and when compared to the 13 he has garnered so far, we can definitely deduce that things have not been the same.
The departure of Kevin De Bruyne will most likely affect the supplies to Haaland and taking an insight into Manchester City’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, there is room for a rethink in expecting huge hauls from the Norwegian.
Liverpool’s heavy squad shake-up seem not to be at the advantage of Salah with summer signing Hugo Ekitike (£8.7m), who is on the mission of proving his worth following a £79 million move to Anfield and the possible addition of Alexander Isak (£10.4m) before the end of the window, it is looking likely the Egyptian might drop his talismanic status at the club any time soon.
Well, this is not an investment advice as we at International(i) Soccer do not give such in our FPL newsletters rather we review and throw a little bit of statistics to back our claims. So, please do not come for us if your decision backfires (LOL!!!).
