Real Madrid began their La Liga campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Osasuna, but the focus was also on the club’s four summer signings making their first appearance at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, and Álvaro Carreras were named in Xabi Alonso’s starting XI, while teenage sensation Franco Mastantuono entered in the second half to complete the quartet of debutants.
It was an evening of excitement and anticipation, as Los Blancos fans welcomed the new arrivals who are expected to play pivotal roles this season, reports Madrid Universal.

Mastantuono, who came on after the break, spoke with pure delight: “Incredible, incredible. The fans and the stadium are very impressive.
It’s great to play here, I hope there are many more games here.”
Alexander-Arnold also expressed his joy, describing his first Madrid experience as unforgettable: “A great welcome.

That’s what I felt from the first moment. We started the season with a good win. The atmosphere was incredible, and the stadium was wonderful.”
Carreras, the Spanish left-back, called it the fulfilment of a dream: “What I expected. What I wanted from day one. I’m finally here with all my teammates.”
Meanwhile, Huijsen highlighted the pride of wearing the famous white shirt: “Very proud. For me, it’s a dream. A good atmosphere, really, and the fans are very good. Very happy with the three points.”
With their debuts now complete, the four signings will focus on settling into Alonso’s tactical plans as Madrid prepare for their next clash against Oviedo on Sunday, August 24.
