Saka Reveals Teammates Thoughts On Gyokeres Debut

Bukayo Saka has reportedly revealed that Viktor Gyokeres has given the team something to ‘build on’ even though he didn’t score on his full Arsenal debut.

The England international is certain that Gyokores, a striker who cost £64 million, has all the makings of a premier centre forward and is already settling in.

After making his first Premier League start for Arsenal against Manchester United, the 27-year-old was pulled off after failing to register a single shot on goal.

Since the Sweden international has barely completed two weeks of full training after his prolonged transfer from Sporting Lisbon, many fans have begun to doubt his match readiness and fitness.

Gyokores, who was a prolific scorer at Sporting but hasn’t established himself in a top league, poses a serious risk to the Gunners. He is currently being watched closely at Arsenal.

What Did Saka Say About Gyokeres Debut In Arsenal Colours?

According to the Daily Express, Saka is confident in his new teammate’s abilities and thinks Gyokores will be ready for the Premier League’s physical demands.

He explained: “I was impressed with him and he battled for us. It was tough. There was a big battle up there. I thought he did well.

“His performance gives us something to build on and I am sure it will help him next week. He has slotted in well and so have the other guys.”

Over the last couple of months, Arsenal have gone on a massive summer spending binge, spending staggering sums of money on Gyokores, Martin Zubimendi, and Noni Madueke.
Their bench has been greatly strengthened by the addition of back-up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera and Christian Norgaard, who missed the United game due to a slight injury.
