Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders has completed move to Strasbourg on a season-long loan deal.
According to Football London, the 19-year-old, who moved from Genk this summer, has signed a loan agreement with the Blues’ sister club for the 2025–2026 campaign.
Although the club hold the teenage shot-stopper in the highest regard, he is currently viewed as a prospect at Stamford Bridge, where Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen are the goalkeepers.
Penders has followed in the footsteps of fellow goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, and Chelsea will be closely monitoring him.

The Club World Cup champions chose to cash in on the Serbian this summer after Bournemouth paid £25 million for his services.
The Serbian made a huge impression while on loan with Strasbourg last season, earning a spot in the Ligue 1 best XI.
Chelsea will be hoping for similar success with Penders, who they believe may be the team’s number one in the coming years, they do not intend to do the same with him.
Additionally, the Blues are anticipated to loan Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr to Strasbourg, who have already acquired Mathis Amougou on a long-term contract.

The report also stated that the French team, led by Liam Rosenior, are also in negotiations to sign Ishe Samuels-Smith to a long-term deal.
Over the past few weeks, the 19-year-old defender’s agents have been in eastern France negotiating personal conditions with the BlueCo-owned team.
Although there hasn’t been any progress as of now, Samuels-Smith has stated that he intends to join the Ligue 1 team permanently.
Chelsea want £8 million, which is twice as much as they paid for him when he joined from Everton in 2023.
However, negotiations over the price will start as soon as or if personal agreements are reached.
