According to Mason Mount, Manchester United’s players have set an early goal for the upcoming campaign: to return to Europe.
After losing to Tottenham 1-0 in the Europa League final in Bilbao back in May, United was unable to qualify for the Champions League. In addition, Ruben Amorim’s team ended the season in 15th place in the Premier League, which was United’s worst league finish in 51 years.
Attacking midfielder Mount stated that returning to Old Trafford is the main goal for the upcoming season, as the team will not be playing European football there for the second time in 35 years. “It goes without saying that we would like to return to Europe,” Mount remarked. For the club, that is an enormously significant event.

That is the main objective. For us, the Champions League would be fantastic. We all want to participate in that competition as players and as a group. That’s the objective, then. We are aware of how challenging that is in the Premier League right now. At the moment, a lot of teams are investing and playing excellent football.
In an effort to make sure United starts the current season strong, Mount, 26, said Amorim and his coaching staff thoroughly examined what went wrong the previous one.
