Hamill joined St Johnstone’s youth academy at age 10 under Alistair Stevenson and quickly became one of the club’s top young prospects.
The young midfielder shone last season for the under-18s and also earned multiple call-ups to the Scotland youth national teams.
His standout moment came at the end of the 2024/25 season when he made his senior debut against Dundee at McDiarmid Park.
After sealing his move to North London, Hamill thanked St Johnstone for their role in his development and gave special praise to Stevenson.
“The club pushed me to be my best,” said Hamill. “Playing in older age groups really helped my growth as a player.”
“I’ll miss everyone at the club,” he added. “Making my debut was unforgettable—I’ll always be grateful for the chance I got.”
Academy chief Stevenson praised Hamill’s professionalism, saying, “Callan earned everything he achieved. We’ll be watching his progress at Arsenal closely.”
Everyone at St Johnstone wished Hamill success, proud to see another academy product join a top Premier League club like Arsenal, reports St. Johnstone.
